G&G Closed Circuit Events LLC, a distributor of pay-per-view boxing events, has filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California San Diego Division with case number 3:18-cv-00461-W-KSC against Ereida Patricia Flores and Mario Moncada, doing business as Cilantro Taco Shop, alleging the violation of the Cable and Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act.
According to the complaint, defendants (Cilantro Taco Shop), took up the plaintiff boxing program and intercepted it for exhibition and display. The plaintiff claims that its program was made public without authorization in a bid for the defendants to harness financial gain.
G&G Closed Circuit Events LLC is seeking for trial and compensation for damages between $10,000 and $110,000.
The plaintiff alleges Cilantro Taco Shop made unlawful interception, has received, published, divulged, displayed, and/or exhibited the program at the time of its transmission at their commercial establishment in La Mesa, California, without authorization or consent.
