U.S. News | Gigi Hadid Sued for Copyright Infringement over Instagram Photo

Last week, a photography agency, Xclusive filed a lawsuit against Gigi Hadid for sharing photo on Instagram without the photographer’s permission.

The model was allege to have posted a paparazzi image of herself on Instagram in October and was forced to remove the picture because of the legal battle on ground.

According to the lawsuit approximately 1.6 million people liked or commented on the photo before it was removed by Gigi.

“As of the date of this filing, Hadid’s Instagram account has fifty uncredited photographs of Hadid in public, at press events, or on the runway” – the lawsuit states.

Gigi published a long post on Instagram mentioning members of the paparazzi who constantly takes photos of her while also saying that they took a mental and emotional toll on celebrities.

The plaintiff is seeking payment for damages that this infringement has caused along with any profits made from the photo.
