MIH Intelprop Holdings Limited  Applies to Register “Gotenna” in Class 9 in Nigeria

GOTENNAMIH Intelprop Holdings Limited (MIH) has lodged an application to register “Gotenna” at the Trademarks, Patents, and Designs Registry in Abuja. The application was filed on May 15, 2014 and covers computer programs and software applications for smart phones and tablet devices in Class 9.

The status of the mark in Nigeria as of February 2, 2015, was accepted and approved for publication.

Samsung  Applies to Register “Memographer” in Class 9 in Nigeria

MEMOGRAPHERSamsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (Samsung) has lodged an application to register “Memographer” at the Trademarks, Patents, and Designs Registry in Abuja.  The application was filed on January 10, 2014 and covers mobile telephones, portable computers, and cellphone data receivers in Class 9.

WIPO’s Global Brand Database, shows that Samsung has also registered the marks in Class 9 in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, the Philippines and the U.S. The status of the mark in Nigeria as of February 2, 2015, was accepted and approved for publication.

Unilever Applies to Register “Leveredge (Stylised) & Device” in Class 9 in Nigeria

LEVEREDGEUnilever Plc. (Unilever) has lodged an application to register “Leveredge (Stylised) & Device” at the Trademarks, Patents, and Designs Registry in Abuja.  The applications was filed on January 10, 2014 and covers interactive multi-media educational and business materials, and electronic publications in Class 9.

The status of the mark in Nigeria as of February 2, 2015, was accepted and approved for publication.

Thuraya Telecommunications Company Applies to Register “Thuraya and Device” in Class 9 in Nigeria

THURAYAThuraya Telecommunications Company (Thuraya) has filed an application for the registration of “Thuraya and Device” at the Trademarks, Patents and Designs Registry in Abuja. The application was lodged on May 5, 2014 and covers wireless phones and all types of decoders instruments in Class 9. Thuraya also filed similar application in Classes 16 and 38 in Nigeria.

Thuraya has registered the mark in Class 9 in Indonesia, Singapore, Switzerland, and the U.S, with pending applications in Canada and Cambodia.

The status of the mark in Nigeria as of February 2, 2015, was accepted and approved for publication.

Advance Magazine Publishers Inc. Applies to Register “Wired”, “AD Architectural Digest”, and “Conde Nast Traveller” in Class 9 in Nigeria

Advance Magazine Publishers Inc. has lodged separate applications for the registration of the terms “Wired”, “Ad Architectural Digest”,  and “Conde Nast Traveller”, at the Trademarks, Patents, and Designs Registry in Abuja.  All applications were filed on May 8, 2014 and cover devices for regulating electricity and recording, transmitting or reproduction of sound or images in Class 9. Similar applications were filed in Class 41 in Nigeria in respect of entertainment and educational services.

The status of the mark in Nigeria as of February 2, 2015, was accepted and approved for publication.
