Ikoyi GardensLekki Gardens Estate Limited (Lekki Gardens) has lodged separate applications to register “Ikoyi Gardens”, “Lekki Paradise Welcome to Paradise”, “Mainland Gardens Ikeja”, “Luxury You Can Afford”, “Welcome to Paradise” and “The Horizon” in Class 35 at the Trademarks, Patents, and Designs Registry in Abuja.  All the application were filed on February 7, 2012 and cover Advertising, Business Management, Business Administration and Office Functions.

The status of the marks in Nigeria as of February 2, 2015, were accepted and approved for publication.

KC Gaming Network Limited Applies to Register “9JABET”, “NAIJABET” and “BET9JA” in Class 35 in Nigeria

Gaming company, KC Gaming Network Limited has filed separate applications to register “9JABET”, “NAIJABET” and “BET9JA” at the Trademarks, Patents and Designs Registry in Abuja.  The application were lodged on May 23, 2014 and cover Advertising, Business Management, Business Administration and Office Functions in Class 35.

The status of the applications in Nigeria as of February 2, 2015, were accepted and approved for publication.

Advance Magazine Publishers Inc.  Applies to Register “GQ”, “Vogue”, “Wired”, and “Glamour” in Class 35 in Nigeria

VOGUEAmerica media company, Advance Magazine Publishers Inc., has lodged separate applications for the registration of the terms “GQ”, “Vogue”, “Wired”, and “Glamour” at the Trademarks, Patents, and Designs Registry in Abuja. The marks cover Advertising, Business Management, Business Administration and Office Functions in Class 35. The applications were filed on May 8, 2014, with similar applications in Class 41.

WIPO’s Global Brand Database, shows that Advance Magazine Publishers Inc., has also registered some of the marks in Class 35 in Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, Switzerland and the United States.

The status of the applications in Nigeria as of February 2, 2015, was accepted and approved for publication.

KAWASAKI JUKOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA (doing business as KAWASAKI HEAVY INDUSTRIES, LTD.) Applies to Register “K Kawasaki” in Class 35 in Nigeria

K KAWASAKIKawasaki Jukogyo Kabushiki Kaisha (doing business as Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd.) has lodged an application for the registration of “K Kawasaki” in Class 35.  The mark consists of the wording “Kawasaki” appearing to the right of a large, stylized “K”.  The application was filed on February 14, 2014 at the Trademarks, Patents, and Designs Registry in Nigeria and covers Advertising, Business Management, Business Administration and Office Functions in Class 35.

The company has also registered the mark in Class 35 in Australia, Canada, Switzerlan and the Philippines.  The status of the mark in Nigeria as of February 2, 2015, was accepted and advertised for publication.
