Newsroom

Professor Helge Ronning, Chairman, Norwegian Copyright Development Association (NORCODE) has challenged Nigeria to meaningfully tap the tremendous wealth that abounds in the country with respect to the works of the mind and its creative industries, COSON reports.

Professor Ronning who was speaking at the National Theater Lagos at the COSON Lecture, one of the key events of COSON Week, was clear that the nation’s creative industries can contribute more to the Nigeria’s GDP than oil. At the lecture held on Tuesday May 20, Professor Ronning emphasized that the country will be doing itself great harm by not seriously converting the potentials that exist in its music, literature, dance and other form as of creativity into viable products.
