The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered 40ft container loaded with tramadol and other banned drugs at the Brawal terminal in Lagos.
The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah rtd reportedly disclosed that NDLEA’s investigation revealed that the tramadol was manufactured in Pakistan.
Abdallah reportedly said that the seizure followed a recent one made by the police of a 40ft container loaded with cartons of brushes, cartons of tramadol, and other banned drugs.
Abdallah reportedly said that the discovery was a major breakthrough for the agency as they have been able to know the new route for the movement of tramadol into Nigeria which was from Pakistan via Europe (Hamburg) to Nigeria.
Abdallah reportedly said that drug trafficking is one of the vices fueling insecurity across the country and that the agency would do everything within their reach to get to the root of illegal drug trade while imploring other security agencies to collaborate with the agency in combating this menace.
Abdallah reportedly commended the Police, NAFDAC, and other security agencies for their support in combating this menace.
Abdallah reportedly said that the agency would continue to carry out its statutory mandate to combat trafficking and abuse of narcotics.
