A prominent Nigerian TV, iROKOtv and Jason Njoku have been accused by a Nigerian writer, Tomi Adesina for using and adapting her blog series “Beautiful Stranger” into a movie called “Swings,” without her consent.

In reaction, according to Jason Njoku official statement sent to Pulse Nigeria on July 6, Jason said that the movie “Swings,” which was set in Ghana with an all Ghanaian cast, was produced by a Ghanaian production company, DEO Studio/Daniel Edah Production.

Jason further said that there is no relationship between the movie and the defendants adding that there is no where IROKOtv, ROK or the Njokus was found in or around the film because they have nothing to do with the movie.

“We acquired a finished product after DEO studio / Daniel Edah Production contacted us” he told Pulse.

Adesina claimed that the names of the major characters, the setting, the dialogue and the plot line of the 2018 movie “Swings” is the same with “Beautiful Stranger,” which she published as a free E-Book in 2015.

IROKOtv stated that twitter is not the forum for such discussions as they have been mentioned severally via tweets from Adesina, nevertheless, they are happy to continue this conversation offline with Tomi Adesina.
