
Earlier this week, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) intensified its debt recovery operation incurred by importers of drugs, food and cosmetics owing up to seven billion naira payment.
According to the Director General of NAFDAC, Professor Moji Adeyeye, the evasion of payment happened years before she took over the leadership of NAFDAC in November, 2017.
She further said that, since she assumed office till end of March 2018, the agency has realized N260 million so far.
Speaking further, Adeyeye said she plans to realize not less than one billion naira before the elapse of this year as the agency is fully committed to getting debts paid.
“We have also decentralised the registration processes to states, especially on our Small and Medium Enterprises programme to save time.
“It is also to facilitate the policy of the Federal Government on the ease of doing business,” she said.
She reinstated that her administration has put in place quality management system which has aided efficiency in regulations.
