Early this week, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) warned the general public in respect to the misuse of TOPSTOXIN Fumigation tablets because the tablet contains Aluminum Phosphide which could cause severe injuries and untimely death, when misused.
The warning was disclosed by the Director-General of NAFDAC, Professor Moji Adeyeye, in Abuja early this week. Professor Adeyeye emphasized the need to desist from misusing the tablet because of its health implication.
She added that TOPSTOXIN Fumigation tablet is also used as agrochemical to control insects and rodents in stored grains.
“We hereby advise the general public to desist from misuse of Topstoxin as fumigation in their homes and stores because it is injurious to health and could also cause untimely death.” she said.
NAFDAC has been at the forefront of protecting and safeguarding the citizenry through its well mediated campaigns and drive to combating drug abuse, counterfeiting and substandard products.
