NAFDAC News | No New Approval for Alcohol Packaged In Sachets

non-alcoholic

Last week, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) disclosed that it will no longer approve new registration for alcohol packaged in sachets.

NAFDAC’s Director-General, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, made this announcement in Ibadan.

Adeyeye said alcohol in sachets has contributed greatly to the increase in the rate of drug and alcohol abuse in Nigeria.

Adeyeye further added that the agency will take out the use of pet bottles for the packaging of alcohol to address the increasing menace of abuse in the country.

The Director-General said the agency will collaborate more with the traditional herbalists and researchers in a bid to encourage local production of herbal medicines in Nigeria.
