Nigerian News | NAFDAC Cautioned Nigerians Against Consumption of Swiss Alpine Green Tea

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has cautioned Nigerians against regular consumption of Swiss Alpine Green Tea manufactured by Bio Suisse, Switzerland after been informed by the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA). This warning is coming due to high phenolphthalein and hydro-alcoholic content in the product that can cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and other adverse reactions.

Swiss Alpine Herbs Products are a range of diverse organic herbal products ranging from Herbal fragrant tea, Ice tea, Syrups, Stock, Herbal Salt Mix, Herbal Salt Grinder, Herbal Mixtures, and Blends.

NAFDAC reportedly implored consumers to exercise caution in the consumption of the various products of Swiss Alpine Herbs in order to avoid undesired health consequences.

NAFDAC encouraged healthcare professionals and consumers to report adverse events or side effects related to the use of this product to the nearest NAFDAC office.
