My Pikin: A case for review of NAFDAC law

National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, under the leadership of Dr Paul Orhii, in what is regarded as a historic feat, secured on Friday, May 17, this year,  a court judgement against the producers of My Pikin Baby Teething Mixture that killed scores of children in 2008.  This is the first time the agency would strike the bull’s eye in litigations that border on medicine issue.  A Federal High Court in Lagos, presided over by Justice Okechukwu Okeke, ordered that the firm, Barewa Pharmaceutical Company, be compulsorily wound up in line with the provisions of the law and its assets forfeited to the Federal Government.
