US-based fashion brand Levi Strauss, known for its denim jeans, has dropped a trademark infringement claim against Italy-based menswear brand, Isaia Corp which was filed in May 2018 accusing the defendant of infringing its ‘Tab device’ trademark.
According to the suit, the plaintiff accused the defendant of manufacturing, marketing and selling substantial quantities of jeans that feature a similar pocket tab trademarked by the plaintiff which has caused the plaintiff damages, unfair competition and confusion among its consumers.
Levi Strauss sought damages and an enjoinment preventing Isaia from manufacturing the products.
Amazingly! Levi Strauss filed a notice of voluntary dismissal with prejudice, on August 8, at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
According to the voluntary dismissal notice filed this week, the parties reached a settlement regarding the infringement claims.
