Lawyer Threatens to Sue Nigerian Bar Association for Gifting President Buhari a Portrait

A Nigerian lawyer is reportedly taking the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to court following the gifting of a portrait he created of President Buhari to the President without his authorization. Oladelemi Philip Olubakin took to Facebook to narrate how he was treated by the NBA .

According to Olubakin, he created a portrait of the Nigerian President and wanted to present it to him personally at the NBA conference in 2017, but was told that the ‘President won’t receive such’ a gift but was told to leave his portrait in their custody.

The lawyer was later surprised to see that the NBA had without his authorization presented the said portrait to the President on his 75th birthday. The lawyer expressed his disappointment in a Facebook post stating that he intends to sue the Association.
