China News | Jollibee to Sue China Restaurant for Trademark Infringement

Last week, Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) threatened to sue and take legal action against a restaurant in Guangxi, China for trademark infringement over a Facebook post published on their handle showing the restaurant JoyRulBee.

According to Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), the JoyRulBee logo is identical and has the same color which infringes on its trademark.

The plaintiff stated that the Jollibee brand is popularly known for its colors of red and yellow and its bee mascot wearing a white hat.

“Our legal team has been taking the necessary steps in order to protect and uphold our company’s trademark rights as what is provided for under the law,” the fast-food company reportedly said.

JFC said that their attention was brought to the infringement days before the post went viral on social media which has now attracted more than 1,500 reactions and has been shared more than 3,200 times.
