December 8, 2016 — The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) has made its published industrial designs data available on the Designview search tool.
Designview is the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) administered tool which provides a centralized access point to view the registered design information held by a number of participating offices, including Germany, Spain, Brazil and the United Kingdom.
With ARIPO Industrial Designs on board, Designview now contains data from 52 offices providing information and access to more than 10.1 million designs in total.
According to ARIPO, the organization embarked on the project to add ARIPO Industrial Designs to DesignView in order to support the availability of IP information to the public the world over.
The ARIPO Industrial Designs on Designview may be accessed on www.tmdn.org.

About ARIPO
ARIPO was mainly established to pool the resources of its member countries in industrial property matters together in order to avoid duplication of financial and human resources. Member states also recognized that the “creation of an African regional industrial property organization for the study and promotion of and co-operation in industrial property matters would best serve” that purpose.
