U.S. News | Angela Ma Sues Kendall Jenner for Copyright Infringement

Angela Ma has filed a lawsuit in the California Central District Court against Kendall Jenner and her company Kendall Jenner, Inc for copyright infringement.

The plaintiff alleges that the defendants posted a video of herself on Instagram walking out of a building and sticking a smile for the paparazzi to take pictures.

The plaintiff reportedly said that it owns the copyright of the video and has been registered with the Copyright Office. 

The plaintiff alleges that the defendants infringed Angela Ma copyright in the video by reproducing and publicly displaying the video on her page without a license or otherwise authorized to reproduce, publicly display, distribute and/or use the video.

The plaintiff reportedly said that the defendants infringement was willful, intentional, and purposeful and had caused lots of damages.

The plaintiff reportedly said that the video received great impression from her following of 126 million on Instagram.

The plaintiff is seeking Jenner to hand her all the profits that she might have earned from the video plus statutory damages of up to $150,000 and compensation for attorneys’ fees and full costs. 

The plaintiff also seeks Jenner to remove the video from her social media platform.
