
A Florida photographer, Alan Davis has filed a lawsuit in the New York Southern District Court against singer-songwriter, Lisa Loeb for copyright infringement.
The plaintiff alleges that the defendant uploaded a shot of her clutching a guitar and wearing her hair in rainbow-ribboned buns on Instagram, which has garnered 992 likes without permission.
The plaintiff allegedly said that the photo was posted in October 2019 with a caption saying “I stand with our LGBTQ youth against bullying”.
The plaintiff reportedly said that the photo was also posted on Loeb’s Facebook page.
The plaintiff reportedly said that it owns the copyright of the photo and that the defendant is expected to get a license to use the photo.
The plaintiff reportedly said that the infringement has caused lots of damages, loss of profits and licensing fees.
Alan Davis is asking for an unspecified amount in damages for the alleged copyright infringement.
The case is ongoing.
