Change furtively stalks the Lagos Islands rabbit-warren neighbourhoods. So, it’s just a matter of time before it effaces the memories of an old colonial prison somewhere along Broad Street. Fortunately, an architect Theo Lawson had conceived a creative way to save the monument and subsequently sold the idea to the Lagos State Government. One thing led to the other and a green oasis in the midst of the Island’s Dickensian concrete wilderness emerged sometime last year. Read more
