95% auto spare parts in Nigeria are imported —SON by Ayomide Owonibi-Lagos

The Director-General of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Dr Joseph Odumodu, has said that over 95 per cent of auto spare parts in Nigeria are imported and charged dealers to take bolder steps by venturing into manufacturing so as to advance the level of industrialisation in the country. Odumodu, who addressed some traders under the aegis of Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPAMDA) in Lagos, during an awareness and sensitisation tour of their market, said that he was impressed by the presence of many brands in the market.
